Dear Sir:-
Replying to your favor of Oct 21st, 1901 enclosing photographs of certain
criminals, and informing me of the departure for this City of John Fay, ex-convict
Victoria photo 122:
I have to thank you for the photographs and for the timely informa-
tion regarding John Fay, and to say in the near future we will send you a batch
of photographs. We identify Emma Patterson as a notorious shop-lifter and
ex-convict. I subjoin their records, for your benifit.
Emma Patterson:
As Norah J. Denis, Sept.1, 1890, House of Correction 9 months, two charges
petit larceny (shoplifting)
As Lenora Stewart, Sept. 24, 1891, House of Correction 1 year, two charges
petit larceny (shoplifting)
As Emma Taylor, January 1894, arrested charge pickpocket, case
dismissed.
As Emma De Lacey, August 8, 1895, San Quentin 1-1/2 years petit larceny
and prior (shoplifting) from Oakland, Cal.
April, 1897, arrested at Los Angeles, Cal, several charges shoplifting
disposition of cases not known.
As Eva Ray, July 22, 1899, County Gaol 3 months petit larceny, shoplifting
As Ruby Smith, Sept 13, 1900, COunty Gaol 6 months petit larceny. (shop-
lif ing [shoplifting])____
Lee Harold alias A.W. Baldwin: July 28, 1898
As Arthur Wade Lee, San Quentin 4 years grand larceny, from Los Angeles
County. Discharged 22, 1901.
