- Translated transcription: The last Vébjörg saw of the land she left behind was Haraldr’s grave mound. In the lowering rays of the sun it lay there by the ocean, there where her childhood happiness bloomed among the lyme grass and sea holly, while young Haraldr yet lived. There where they launched their toy ship, and where they first made the acquaintance of the dear, small mermaids, where she steered the sea horse and learned to dance in the foam of the waves.
Later she would often recall this sight of the mound, as it disappeared behind the rolling waves in the evening’s mild light.
