En route today put up a big grizzly
heading north through the timber. About
a mile below the upper cabin we
struck the trail of a tremendous
bear. This bear came down the Bryant
Cr. [creek] trail - we followed his trail
about 9 miles. Hind foot 11 1/2 inches

During summer of 1940 Al. Freeman
Prov. [provincial] Ranger at Spray Lakes is said [underlined twice]
to have killed 17 grizzly around
his cabin
Today we followed. tracks of at least
2 bears, one came down over Whiteman
Pass traill [trail], another out of Bryant Cr. [creek]
