[Mountain] Hot + dry 1 pm - 4 pm. 1 [female symbol] yearling 1 [female symbol] ad. [adult] 1 [female symbol] ad. [adult] 1 [male symbol] 3 years. 1 [female symbol] 1 f. [fawn] 2 [male symbol] forks, 1 deer [female symbol] age not known. Food:- near Duncan eating a small purple Russula [underlined] extensively but apparently avoiding Russula xerampelina [underlined] Fr. [Fries] which was only a little less abundant. On Bald Mountain deer are already making heavy inroads on winter browse. Arbutus is 30-40% gone, a little browsing on salal [word crossed out] berberis, none on salal.
