" " Aug [August] 21/27 [male symbol] #1 is darker than #3 which is very grey. Huntingdon BC [British Columbia] April 19/35. - In company with Bob Luscher went through Burton's pasture where we each secured a fox sparrow; Five in all were seen about piles of brush Both birds were pale coloured, whitish between eye + bill + [illegible word] whitish. Named by [space left blank] as P.i.[Passerella iliaca] [space left blank] see # [space left blank] Alta Lake B.C. [British Columbia] Sept. [September] 12. 1937. Two fox sparrows seen chasing one another about thick undergrowth near well. Collected one, #2322, which proved to be a juv [juvenile] [male symbol] with clear skull Sept. [September] 16. 1937. Saw a fox sparrow in thicket by water near bridge between the Hull's + Archibalds places. Saw it only once as it was very shy.
