- Holboell Grebe.
July 1, 1936. 10 Mile Lake, Quesnel, B.C. [British Columbia]
Found nest of 4 eggs. 3 quite
fresh, the 4th [fourth] slightly incubated.
When the bird left the nest it
covered the eggs with a few bits of
weeds.
July 4, 1936. 10 Mile Lake, Quesnel, B.C. [British Columbia]
Found second nest of 4 eggs.
Or at least there were 3 + the
remains of a 4th [fourth] - I think perhaps
the crows had taken it. One
egg was pipped.
July 5, 1936. Again visited this nest.
Pipped egg had hatched + young
one went off riding on back of
[male symbol].
