Kills:- At mile 23 an adult bull dead without sign of violence. Heavy with ticks. Molars worn but O.K. [okay] Incisors in poor shape - badly eroded. Animal very emaciated. Took tip of lower jaw. At 38 mile a young elk apparently a wolf or bear kill. At 42. a 6 pt [point] prime bull without ticks dead with its throat torn + the viscera + hind quarters eaten. Skull saved.
