- grebes. There were 12 birds, more
or less in pairs, but they switched
partners back and forth.
We also saw a flock of Audubon
Warbler, containing a few Myrtle
Warblers; several pairs of Pintail,
and a yellowlegs. A male Kildeer [Killdeer]
was observed in the same position
as yesterday.
The Yellow-Shafted Flicker
arrived again this morning, and
was driven away by the pair
We ran out of bread today, much
to Tim [Miles Timothy Myres]'s disgust, and he threatened
to walk to Williams Lake to get
more. However, Mary [F. Jackson] is going
into town tomorrow, so he didn't.
Mary [F. Jackson] saw two Canada Geese
on Westwick Lake this afternoon.
Tim [Miles Timothy Myres] fixed a recorder on Matilda
(?) this afternoon. We now hope
she isn't disturbed, and ignores
the recorder.

Weather: Overcast, sunny patches in
the morning, gusty in the afternoon.
In the morning Tim [Miles Timothy Myres] and Mary [F. Jackson]
went into town to pick up the stuff at the express office.
The groceries arrived leaving
