Food. 1 Buck browsed
3 minutes on Cerastium viscosum [underlined]

Examination of food plants showed
that the following species had
been browsed within the
last week.
Ribes sanguinea [underlined] - very heavily
flowers all removed + most of the
foliage removed except on inaccessible
hillsides + rocky bluffs.
Cerastium viscosum, [underlined] abundant
+ quite heavily [words crossed out] moderately utilized
Pteris aquilina [underlined] tips 18 inches
above ground had the terminal
6 inches removed. Large areas
in the shaded bottoms had
75% of the bracken so utilized.
On the dry open hillsides it was
not touched.
Ribes lobbii, [underlined] in only one
instance had this been eaten.
this was a bush growing in
a moist, shaded location + had
some long new growth from which
leaves had been stripped.
Salix sitchensis [underlined] light utilization.
Cicuta Douglasi [word crossed out] Oenanthe sarmentosa - The leaves of this
water hemlock had been heavily
browsed.
