Weather: fine
Saw the same Coopers Hawk
sitting on a dead stump about

then attacked a full-grown
hen. We were within 15 feet
of it (running with a great clatter)
before it abandoned the struggle.
The chicken was bleeding on the
wing and a bit unsteady, but
otherwise unharmed.
