sparrows in brush tangle in park
Mar [March] 5. Victoria Several still in
immature plumage seen in
Park in clump of brush where
they have been all winter
Sept [September] 18/40 [1940] Following a 2 day storm
large numbers are moving along with
white crowns + savannahs [savannah sparrows]. Feeding
in Hort. [Horticultural?] shrubbery in afternoon
April 21, 1942 Vancouver BC [British Columbia]
Many hundreds of these birds
appeared on the campus today.
+ remained constantly (or others in like
number) for 2 weeks (May 7)
May 3, 1943. Vancouver, B.C. [British Columbia]
Returned after 3 weeks absence to
find a small number of these sparrows
on the campus. The main migration must
have passed through.
April 27, 1944 Vancouver.
Up until this date I have not seen
a single golden crowned sparrow.
April 28, 1947. Vancouver
Heard 3 birds sing now on UBC lawns.
Main movement in force on May 9, 1947

Adult caught in mouse trap.
