Bert White commented on the same thing. 1 scat on Signal Mt [mountain] 1 whistler [hoary marmot]. " [Jasper] June 20/46 [1946] At mile 14 examined an active den. Dug into it for 36' [feet] before losing it. Sole food remains were foot boxes of a deer and an entire juv [juvenile] crow. [Alec] Nelles shot a mangy coyote 2 days ago. Pup deaths [underlined] Near above den found remains of a small pup. Emigrants Mt. [mountain] June 24/46. [1946] 4 scats col. [Columbian] groundsquirrel Banff, Alta [Alberta] July 3/46 [1946] Examined 4 den burrows in sand banks + earth ridges just north of Stony Creek. Warden Charles Page saw pups - 8 or 9 of them at one of these burrows about 10 days ago. I could not find a live den for sure + assume that the coyote has moved her pups. Banfield reports another this spring den at mile 13 + Green says
