- and then Mrs. Sunday (8 eggs now.)
Nancy [Mahoney] and I canoed down the
lake to set up a blind for
tomorrow. The Johnston boy and
the Indian boy from the ranch
house bicycled down the lake
following us, and talked while
we were setting up the blind.
They both seem like nice kids,
but the Indian is quite a bit
shyer. The Johnson boy said
he would report egg and nest data for
us. We asked them to dinner
some night. The sunset from
the lake was simply gorgeous -
mauve and pink going down (south)
and gold coming back. The lake
was just like glass. The Grebes
seem to have no alarm call. They
either dive or fly silently

Weather - beautiful!
We are sitting in the tent drinking
tea and listening to the Dance of
the Hours.
We dried everything in camp this
morning and then Nancy [Mahoney] and I
went down the lake (Westwick) in
the canoe for the day. We found
some nests that might be Grebes,
