Hiked 5 + miles down river + examined
sheep range on lower slopes of
Mt. [Mount] Aztec. This is ecologically a poor
range - grass is rye + scanty.
though carryover adequate. A lot of
bearberry on slopes. No indication of
more than a small band there.
Fresh wolf tracks on trail.
Game:- 15 elk

1 goat. +4
Isaac Creek. July 10/44.
Came down from Brazeau Lake in 6 hours
even. Weather variable - 4 showers during
the afternoon.
Terrain shows def. [definite] local signs of
overstocking with elk.
Game seen:- 2 elk + 6
