At night rain, Thunder & [and] Lightning. --- Tuesday Aug 26 Anchored at 10 A.M. near to Picnic Island. Heavy rain. S.E. Went to Nananimo. Could get no Men. Up anchor at 6:30 and headed for Victoria. --- Wednesday Aug 27 8 A.M. off Gabriola Island S.E. at noon fresh breeze Beat about all day & [and] night but made little progress --- Thursday August 28 S.E. Beat about all day. Could not make Active pass. Anchored in Bay near to Pass. --- Friday Aug 29 Calm. Got up anchor at 8. Went Through Plumper Pass. Drifted down Pender Isd [island]. Anchored --- Saturday August 30 Dead Calm. Thick Fog. RIGHT PAGE N.B. 429 This Ended the Voyage. The Schooner arrived at Victoria and was sold at Auction and the whole Expedition was abandoned.
