Monashee Pass B.C. [British Columbia] June 24. 1937. alt. [altitude] 4000'
Rock slide east side of Pass. 4 p.m. Four of these
birds came to owl call. All collected, ad [adult]
[male symbol] + [female symbol] + 2 juv [juveniles] (both [male symbol]). These latter a very pretty pale grayish
colour. Not nearly so dark as griseus.
Mt. [Mount] Revelstoke B.C. [British Columbia] 6000'. July 3/37 [1937]. Called
up two lots of these jays, 5 + 4 respectively.
Was interested to note that the juv. [juvenile] birds are
now moulting into adult plumage. Very dark
bars from beak through the eyes being apparently the last
part to moult. The adult birds have about
completed 80% of their moult, the tail feathers
being almost complete except the outside pair
which are from 25 to 50 dev [developed].
