  • Evening Grosbeak. Monashee Pass. B.C. [British Columbia] 4000 f [feet] June 23, 1937. Saw about 20 today, some in pairs, other in groups of up to six. Took 3 [male symbol] + 1 [female symbol]. The males all had the testes very large + the [female symbol], one of a flock of 6 birds, was brooding. Mt [Mount] Revelstoke, B.C. [British Columbia] July 5, 1937. Today heard these birds for the first time. They do not reach the top of the mt [mountain] but evidently come up to 5000'.
