were 2 prs. [pairs] of Barrow's Goldeneye + 4 odd juveniles
1 pr [pair] Bufflehead, Scaup 1 [male symbol]
At the middle of the S [south] side of the lake
about 50 yds [yards] back from the water is
a lightning split pine that offers possible
nest site. Some 300 yds [yards] further west on the
top of the ridge along the road on s [south] side
is an excellent site in a pair of large
stumps. At large shallow lake (2nd)
few ducks but a good sized beaver
resting in a form beneath a sage
bush.
On 3rd lake 1 pr [pair] Barrows, male bufflehead
pr [pair] green [word crossed out] blue w. [winged] teal, pr [pair] pintail.
On 4th Lake p [pair] Barrows, pr [pair] Cinnamon
teal.
At Tunkwa there were a large number
of ducks, [male symbol] + 1 [female symbol] surf scoter, 12 +/- bufflehead
with a surplus of [female symbol] plumaged birds. I judge
that they are yearlings of both sexes
I notice that each pair of territorial
goldeneyes is centered on an exposed
stone or some other isolated exposure
There are still non territorial goldeneyes
but the majority are on location.
