"The Leaning Virgin" Albert, Somme, France. During WWI the statue of Mary and the infant Jesus, aka the "Golden Virgin," on top of the Basilica of Notre Dame de Brebieres was hit by a shell. The statue got renamed the "Leaning Virgin" and a legend began that which ever side made the statue fall would lose the war.
