Synopsis: This was an interview of Charles Maclean’s experience as a Platoon Commander of the 1 Royal Canadian Regiment (RCR) and 3rd RCR of the Canadian Armed Forces during the Korean War. The first part of the interview was devoted to Maclean’s enlistment, training and leading up to deployment. Next under discussion was an extensive portion on Canadian military equipment and preparation for the war. Afterwards discussion centered around combat experiences, life in the trenches and the role of a platoon commander.
