- Tuesday, Ap. 23. Media-fiesta: San Jordi “ Tout homme dice bé a la Jordi. ” To Palma by camión . Isabel & Josefa did not realize we were not upstairs in bed until 11.30. Tried Margarita Mateu for frames: none. Went to Casas, found several old gilded ones. Also big water jug with flat base in brown ware, three jars in same, two vases in same: also two [sketch of bottle shape] glass bottles. Took King & Queen, birds & animals to frame. Only black bear in a new black frame. Left three over. Got 4000 pts from bank and 100 pts over, with which I opened a current a/c. Gave 4000 to Gelat (£ at 35.50 [pts]) At Ribas got ordinary linen stuff for trousers & blue cotton for jacket. Laura got blue stuff for cape etc. Lunch in new Mallorca. Full of tourists. No necklaces or beads in Palma worth buying. Isabel & Josepha not at home when we arrived: had to fetch them. Isabel spoken to by Laura about this. Gave Salamo olive oil. Miguel junior., the carpenter, brought book-shelves to Ca'n Torrent.
