  • Jan 13 Wed. To West London (by bus 45 minutes each way) to sign authority for Jenny's operation this afternoon. She was nervous. Worked on Claudius film or bookstall version. * In afternoon Laura & I went to see Jenny. She was just coming to. Her first question was, how was Laura. She said how relieved she was. The room was stuffy & full of chloroform fumes. We returned via Harrods where Laura bought nightdresses & underclothes. Mrs. Mokler has been looking after us for the last few days. More Claudius film or bookstall version A pair of green spectacles 6d & a horn pickle spoon, 6d. Feeling much better. Finished Exile poem. * Laura wrote her Letter .
