  • Oct 4 Monday 1937 6 pages of Belisarius Chapter XIII. Alan about. Decision finally in favour of London. Alan & I wrote letters in evening for Laura: after a walk together from haystack to Highcroft. A.G. still persists in libel: I wrote angrily, Alan forgot to post, I tore it up. Sitting round coal fire in room with purple carpet: talking of plans together, all of us. Basilisk sinks an ¿Italian? submarine.
