Nine Great Marshals
Series of nine posters depicting the great military leaders of the civil war; the tenth of the "ten great marshals" designated in 1955, Lin Biao, disgraced by his attempted coup in 1971, is omitted from the set. The marshals are portrayed on horseback in ceremonial uniform. These posters were published in 1984; a series published the previous year shows the marshals in brighter surroundings with more cheerful expressions and shorter boots. Sold separately.
