Home at Last - Archie Wills portrait [All in a Lifetime illustrated autobiography chapter Page 90]
Part of the Archie Wills illustrated autobiography. Portrait of Wills in uniform. In a typed caption next to the image, Archie Wills writes, "This is how I looked when I returned to Victoria in March, 1919, after three years of intensive training, fighting and a bad encounter with the dreaded Spanish 'Flu. I was thankful I had been spared the fate of so many of my friends: death or serious injury. It was quite a job getting use to Civvies, for which I had been granted $35.00, enough to buy some underwear."
