- Jan 13 Monday Mist rose over mountains bright blue over Son Gallard about 3 o'clock. Over Palma too but sun over the part on the sea-side of Valldemossa – according to Karl who went in to Palma & bought 2 box & 2 laurels for us for 120 pesetas. Brought my new passport. Finished ECC Habits with great difficulty. Junyers to tea, full of “ esta biens ” & “ magnificos ”. I made cigarettes. Laura read me her anger homily . Oh dear, Emmerich is here again & threatens to call. Juan says baile made 150 p[ts]. which about covered expenses: but he & Marcus made about 100 p[ts]. from the bar. Stocks in full blossom. Alfalfas came from Barceló's son-in-law.
