There is a report of Mitchell and another soldier being on guard during the night of April 12th, 1945 after taking the town of Deventer where they made the decision they felt best protected their sleeping Company and did not to engage with a group of heavily armed Germans who walked by and who were later captured by the Dutch underground. And a report titled "All in a Day's Work" dated October 24th, 1945 covering the operations up to and including the capture of the Dutch city of Deventer.
