- Oct 6 Sunday. Transcopied & corrected Old Soldier Sahib Statement from Barker (£6 underestimated). Magdalena sad, so Laura glad to let her go. I cooked Sunday round of beef. (Sabater sent proofs — 1 sheet short & a glaring new misprint. Ana & Juan & Juanita came: Gelat advised neutrality during their stay. Brought Laura a mackintosh. Went to see Francisquito's mother, promised Francisquito a present tomorrow. Karl's razor apparently stolen in the posts.
