- June 16 Wednesday. Lunch with Carlow in a new flat in Westminster Gardens: Canalettos & orangeade. He asked us what we thought was great & genius: but was very sweet. We drew our Paris money to England on recommendation of bank manager. Bought a Georgian tumbler for 4/3 * then we had a beer & pie & sandwich olives supper with Mary & Bill Fuller. Worked out a new sort of novel for him to write. * Broken by Karl a few days later.
