- Sept 3 Thursday 10 o clock – 12 visit from Michael Roberts: prospects of a book by him about Science & English (vocabulary) talk about Grigson, Yeats, Bronowski etc. Troy in afternoon. Rang up Cape for Arnie's address (Utah or somewhere) & told him my feelings. Supper with Norman. Caviare Caviar & bread & butter, Moselle nectarines in his British Grove studio: details of Elfriede's death. First rain since we have been here.
