  • Horned Grebe Lac La Hache July 24/48 [1948]. At 105 mile Lake we today took 6 adults of this grebe in the first drive. They were in faded breeding plumage, one of them with scattered dark feathers in the underparts. They were extremely beligerent [belligerent] + attacked ducks + people in the trap. Wings were held closed under water. No young were seen but they may have been present.
