Several very large flocks seen about
the foreshore of between Iona Is [Island] + Sea Is. [Island] April
15./35 [1935].-
Terra Nova. Lulu Is [Island] B.C. [British Columbia] Nov. [November] 23rd/35 [1935]. Still very
common + many flocks seen this afternoon along
foreshore + flying high in the air at high water.
Estimated about 5000 seen. Several were (5)
collected on Nov. [November] 16th, two sent the Prov. [Provincial] Museum
via Ian McT. [McTaggart] Cowan + three kept for my own collection.
Feby. [February] 9. 1930. About 350 seen on foreshore of Sea
Island, B.C. [British Columbia]
April 18. 1932. Boundary Bay B.C. [words crossed out] Canoe Pass
near Ladner B.C. [British Columbia] about 1000 Dunlin seen along
foreshore
April 19. 1932. Lulu Is [Island] B.C. [British Columbia] Numerous
flocks along foreshore Terra Nova
Dec [December] 3. 1938 Large flocks flying about
marsh - high tide - At times several
thousand would be about and on the marshy
ground, feeding. Found one wounded
bird + saw + heard four or five men shooting
into the flocks near waters edge. Reported
these to Warden Clark.
Dec. [December] 7. 1938. Very numerous on
Lulu Isd. [Island] foreshore. Secured many
disturbed + kept flying about over
marsh + fields in very erratic manner.
