- Flammulated Screech Owl.
March 12. 1939. At Dr May William house, was
shown skin of owl taken by Prof. [Professor] G.J. Spencer on
Aug. [August] 11. 1935 was marked "[male symbol]?". Spencer
says was taken one mile from camp at
Lac du Bois, Kamloops, B.C. [British Columbia] - 13 mi. [miles] north
of Kamloops by auto. Was following him
after dusk + kept calling. Was in open
Jack Pine + Dg. [Douglas] Fir country i.e. the grazing
range of Tranquille Sanitarium.
Bulman Range
Feby. [February] 8. 1940. Relaxed the above skin four days
+ then remade it for Dr May Williams. Skin
was originally very badly prepared + blood left on the
feathers + about left eye. Found it necessary to cement
some of the feathers in place.
