Parasites continued.
Onchocerca [underlined] abundant in hocks
of hind feet. Present in hundreds.
Cephenomyia [Cephenemyia], [underlined] 17 of which
14 were large + 3 under 3/8 inch
present in the lateral crypts immediately
anterior to the larynx.
Lipoptena [underlined] + mallophaga [underlined] abundant.
Many young individuals of the latter
were present that have not
occurred since [word crossed out] during the
winter.
NB
Measurements: l. [length] 53", tail 6'5", h.f., [hind foot] 16' -5" shoulder
31.5"
Deer were still in bands - 6 together
in one group, when jumped
ran off in different directions.
Diseases:- Nodular hyperplasia of the liver.
Several nodules of varying
sizes from that of a golf
ball to that of a small pea
were present in the liver.
Several cicatrices were visible
on the surface of the liver - a large
one over the largest cyst.
