March 5. 1919. An ad [adult] [female symbol] recd [received] from Jack Hanna
who shot it at Jordan River VI. [Vancouver Island], BC [British Columbia] Dim [dimensions] as follows
Length 24.60" [inches]
Extent 5' [feet] 1" [inches]
Wing 17." [inches]
Tail 9.75" [inches]
Tarsus 2.50" [inches]
Bill 1 1/8" [inches]
Vancouver B.C. [British Columbia] Nov. [November] 22/37. [1937] Recd [received] two Snowy
owls. The first is a [female symbol] #2361 Collected by Mr [space left blank] Parms
on Westham Is. [Island] near Reifil's[?] place. Lg. [length] 633, Ext. [extent] 1655.
hgh [height] 4" [inches] Stomach empty. Moderately fat.
The second shot by a hunter near Ladner + given
to Game Comm. [commissioner] Cunningham who gave it to me. It
proved to be an ad [adult] [male symbol]. Sp. [specimen] # 2363. Lg. [length] [space left blank]
Ext. [extent] [space left blank] Wgh. [weight] [space left blank]. Fat. Stomach contained
greater part of a [male symbol] green winged teal, its flesh, portion
feet. but only a few small bones.
Vancouver B.C. [British Columbia] On Sunday p.m. [evening] Dec. [December] 12. 1935
RG. Luscher saw ten snowy owls on Lulu Id. [Island]
Three of these a [female symbol] + 2/[male symbol] were shot + in the head
of two hunters they refused to part with them.
These owls very wary + hard to approach.
There is a very considerable invasion of
these owls in this province (B.C. [British Columbia]) this winter.
Also heard from Mr Theo Howard of WPI.
Says that they are present there.
Dec. [December] 18. 1937 Terra Nova Lulu Is [Island] B.C. [British Columbia] Saw a [female symbol] on
fence + was still there when we left in late
afternoon.
Dec. [December] 3. 1938. Remains of a [female symbol] bird found in field
near Dyke on Lulu Is. [island]. Had been torn in pieces + eaten
