Living sea 03 (1957-05-16) : the first mariner
A series of documentary kinescopes with filmed inserts dealing with the sea and sea life. Hosted by Ian McTaggart-Cowan. There are two stories in this part. In the first story, Dr. Cowan and Wilson Duff showed the evidence of early people about 3000 years ago on the west coast of Canada, including the tools used for fishing, catching sea animals, and different canoes. They also explained how people made the canoes. In the second story, Dr. Cowan introduced the best navigator in South Pacific Ocean: Polynesian. He talked about the ships they used, their voyage and the chart they made to locate different islands.
