Others eaten by slugs. Wrote tentative foreword for Antigua & went over Karl's typing of the new chapters. Laura reading proofs of Epilogue II . The espalier roses at their best. First love-in-the-mist out. All getting so fed up with Catalina. Strawberries starting. Everything very late that wasn't very early. Pears not even budding yet, most of them.
