The Marionette is a prison newsletter made by prisoners for prisoners and the general public to spread awareness of the conditions prisons and in Marion Penitentiary, Illinois in particular. Later joined with Prison News Service (PNS) focused on political trials, repressive abuses of imprisonment and the resistance to such oppression. Edited by Bill Dunne. Article topics include: Confidential disclosure progress (by Punchy Wgner), Perpetuating perks, Marionnotes, Baggot brain, Marion V. (Note: p. 4-5 are a double page spread). PNS no. 7, October 1987. Article topics include: Lexington dungeon, Okay to scandalize the courts, The more things change ..., Assata Shakur surfaces, Dogs.
