Then Mary Hale's mother & Cathleen packed up Mary's things. Then shopping at Selfridge's – knives, garden things, etc for Deyá. Saw Gordon S. himself with gold pencil & top hat & dazed look. Then sherry party at J.F.'s after buying a cand chandelier (37/6) Amabel & Clough Williams Ellis, Ruth Batchelor-Taylor (“Mrs Simpson”) Dick Freeman, Tanny, etc. Then Kitty (to whom a Georgian mirror for birthday present) Douglas West back to supper & Maisie: goodbye to two former. Then packed books, silver, patchwork rugs etc in big box. All Deyá stuff ready for Cook's men tomorrow.
