- White throated Swift
June 24, 1936. Okanagan Falls. BC. [British Columbia]
10 + pairs in cliff at falls,
20 +/- pairs in cliff at head of
Vasseaux on E [East] side. 6-pairs
on cliff on W. [West] side of Vasseaux,
others on all suitable cliffs
When two were chasing
each other in flight I
frequently saw the front one
lift its wings straight
over its back + travel
perhaps 3 or 4 seconds in
that position. Nests all
high up on cliff face, all
in crevices entered from
below. There characteristic
chattering call goes on from
dawn till dusk. Only once
did I see a swift come down
to the lake shore + hover
over the water.
