Already present in considerable numbers
at campsite
Westwick Lake May 25, 1955
Saw females [underlined] only [underlined] carrying nest
material for the first time today.
One was building just outside the
tent while we were writing notes.
She swooped down and snatched
long straws of grass - then went
up to the hole while the male
sat on a branch and supervised.
Later this evening we saw a [female symbol]
building a nest in Matilda's box,
which already had 2 of her eggs
in it.
