being shot at three times refused to
follow the boat any longer.
Nepean Sound off Minktrap Bay.
Aug [August] 14.
Ran through another school of Dalls porpoise
but they did not give us a chance to get
a shot into them.
Laredo Channel off Kent Inlet
Aug [August] 28-29.
We took two Dalls Porpoise in Laredo one
on the 28th one on the 29th Both of which
Mr [Thomas T] McCabe shot + I harpooned while in
their last stages of exhaustion. On the 29th
we saw two porpoise that were not Dalls
apparently quite large in size they rolled
in the manner of Harbor porpoise + were
a light Brown color. We were unable to
collect them.
Sept [September] 23/42 [1942] Vancouver.
Allan Lyon of Hardy Bay reports
seeing a very young Dall porpoise
in Goletas Channel in Aug. [August] 10, 1942.
States that he frequently sees
them after the first week in
August. Can only swim about 100 yds
submerged when very young.
