July 20, 1937. Mt [Mount] Revelstoke, 3400'
This evening while coming
along the road just at dusk I
heard a mouse-like squeaking
plus a scratching of bark. My light
picked up 2 reddish eyes which
I shot - a [female symbol] flying squirrel.
50 yards further down the road
the same thing occurred
except that I could not pick up
the eyes. A little later the flying
squirrel crossed the road - a
distance of some 40 ft. [feet] I shot
at it but missed.
The [female symbol] obtained was no longer
nursing.
