Mounting Maps
Take common calico. Cut it to size,
lay it on a smooth clean board, and
Mounting sponge it with water till it lies quite
Maps smooth on the board. Paste the map,
and lay it on the muslin, then rub
it carefully with a clean cloth, till
all the air bubbles and wrinkles are
gone. Leave it on the board till quite
dry, when it will almost fall off

Cutting Glass
Cut from the Edges of your glass, a
number of lines to the Edges of your
Cutting circle, takeing care not to cross it,
Glass Tap gently with a Knife or Key
and the other glass will come away
in pieces as divided by the lines
Do not cut twice in a place and
do not try to cut on both sides

Trying Vinegar
Evaporate 1/2 a gill in a saucer placed
over boiling water. As it boils down
Trying add a little honey. If the grape
Vinegar Sugar it contains turns Black
it has been adulterated with Sulphuric
Acid. As the last Evaporates, if it
contains Cayenne pepper, you can
Easily smell it
