• Willow Grouse. Dec. [December] 31, 1935. Alta Lake, BC. [British Columbia] Three grouse put up by Miss Archibald's slough. Here thickets of briar + maple provide good cover, while an abundance of viburnum provided a potential food supply. Crop of one saved. July 2, 1936, 10 Mile Lake, Quesnel, B.C. [British Columbia] 5 years ago grouse were abundant here. This year I have heard but a single drumming bird.
