- Transcript:
- Corporation of the City of Victoria City Hall. Vitoria, B.C. 9 June 1887. Mess. F. Sylvester, [j. Sears?] [J. Highsmith?] At the [regular?] meeting of the Council held last evening the Fire Wardens reported upon the question of Furniture removed from the Tiger Engine Home as follows. "We have examined the papers and documents in the hands of the Clerk and find that the property handed over to the City is mentioned in the report of the Chief Engineer dated September 1885, and does not include the Furniture above referred to, we also interviewed W. Pritchet who was Mayor at the time the apparatus was taken over and he by letter attached informs us, that the said Furniture was private property and was to be allowed to remain where is was until the City required the use of the room." The above extract will settle the disputed ownership of the property maintained.
