- A cover page with a couple paragraphs describing Beacon Hill Park and a school reserve both found on the accompanying map. The map is of Victoria and includes the land between Victoria Harbour, James Bay and the Straits of Fuca. There is a church reserve next to Humboldt Street and government buildings with other numbered plots. Beckley Farm is next to the public park containing Beacon Hill along with some more numbered lots and Ogden, Holland and Finlayson Points along the coast. There are trees drawn on the map and the school reserve is located in the top right corner of the map.

- Title:
- Map of Proposed road between Head of Okanagan Lake and the Columbia River
- Description:
- Several maps along with extensive notes about a proposed road between Okanagan Lake and the Columbia River in British Columbia. The notes discuss the experiences of those who have traveled this route previously and the challenges for the road at certain points. Dark relief markings, sketches, and notes show the land cover and land forms along the route. The largest map shows the whole proposed route starting at the south end of Okanagan Lake and traversing through a mountain valley and woods and ending at the Columbia River. Two smaller maps show routes based on indigenous knowledge one of a route up a mountain and the other called "Indian Map" is a smaller overview of the whole route.

- Map of the City of Victoria, Vancouver Island [1863]
- Description:
- A detailed map of the city of Victoria and the District of Esquimalt drawn and compiled from surveys. The land has been divided into many numbered blocks of numbered plots of land with the names of the intersecting streets labeled. There is a red line drawn down some of the streets with a note saying that "The red lines designate the 20,000 feet of pipes to be laid down within a year from the passing of the Act...". Many features and places have been named including a brewery, school reserve, residence of Gov. Douglas, government buildings, a public park with a race course encircling Beacon Hill, "Indian" village, gas works, churches, bridges, the railway, properties belonging to specific people, and ship yards. The surrounding bodies of water, the points along them, and the islands within them are all named including Rock Bay, Victoria Harbour, James Bay, the Straits of Fuca [Juan de Fuca Strait], Holland Point, Ogden Point, Shoal Point, Pelly Island, Coffin Island, Beaver Rock, and Laurel Point.

- Plan of Waddington, Bute Inlet
- Description:
- The plans for a town (that no longer exists) at the base of Mount Waddington on the banks of the Homathco River near Bute Inlet. The plans include blocks of numbered plots of land with roads between them. There are two "Indian" villages, several islands in the river, a waterfall, a landing, and a note that part of the area's land cover is swap and thick brush. Relief marks show the base of the mountain and there is a note running along them saying "mountains nearly perpendicular".
