Chimney Lake. Aug. [August] 15/48 [1948].
Sunday. + we devoted ourselves
to camp chores except for a visit
to my baited trap. It held nothing.
Chimney Lake Aug. [August] 16/48 [1948].
Drove out to springhouse on a
cool clear day, set up our trap
in Rush Lake + made an excellent
drive. I think the pond ducks
could be taken here fairly
easily with a trap set in the
reeds on the E [East] side of the
lake. + with entrances both
ways. Coots abundant.
Broods seen:
Canvasback 8 (3)
Redhead 3 (2) + 7 (3)
Scaup 7 (2), 7 (2), 8 (1) 9 (2)
Ruddy 6 (1)
Goldeneye 9 (2 + 3)
