passed through Decoigne on 3 different
occasions last winter - Also that
there was a lone animal working
the valley.
Tells me that [Frank] Burstrom shot 2
this winter - one mangy.

Visited wolf den on Buffalo Prairie
+ found it unoccupied.

Saw Frank Burstrom : He reports
that he shot a black [female symbol] + a
brown [female symbol] this winter. One of
them was eating a dead horse.

The two wolves have gone
from Miette. But Willow
Creek band #'d [numbered] about 4 or 5,
5 to 10 in the valley floor.
Wells thinks 12 to 15 or so
on his area this winter
5 on the Maligne
Bert White had a group of 8
pass through his area on 3
occassions [occasions] this winter.
