Dear M.M.J. Abkhazi:
I recently received a petition, asking the Federal Government to transfer the public land surrounding the Gonzales Hill Observatory to the City of Victoria. As you are among those who signed this Petition, I thought you would be interested in knowing what action has been taken on it.
There was some difficulty with the sheets of signature that I received, inasmuch as they did not comply with the accepted format for Petitions. However, I was able to make some changes to the format, thereby allowing me to table it in the House of Commons. I did so on December 7th, and am enclosing a copy of the page from that day’s Hansard, for your information. Once the Government has responded to this Petition, I will advise you further.
